Year of Faith 2012-13
To enter through the “door of faith” is to set out on a journey that lasts a
lifetime. It begins with Baptism, through which we can address God as Father,
and it ends with the passage through death to eternal life, fruit of the
resurrection of the Lord Jesus, whose will it was, by the gift of the Holy Spirit,
to draw those who believe in him into his own glory (John 17:22).

Francis and the Year of Faith
"The attitude demanded of us as true
believers is that of recognizing and accepting in our lives the centrality of
Jesus Christ, in our thoughts, in our words and in our works."

The high point in our Year of Faith in St Joan's. Inspiring talks by the fantastic "Café" team of David Payne, Jenny Baker, Steve
Murray and Tim Stevens. The Parish Mission Day on
Sunday 14th July was truly joyful, with talks for adults in the
church, activities for children and young people, and family picnics under the
trees in front of the Church.
Even though the Year
of Faith has now ended, it is never too late to explore and deepen your Faith.
You are invited to use the many resources on this page to help you to ponder and above all pray for the Holy Spirit to "guide you into all truth"
(John 16:13). And
in 2015, please consider finding out more about how the Holy Spirit can help
your faith come alive.
"The 'door of faith' is always open for us, ushering us
into the life of communion with God and offering entry into his Church. It is
possible to cross that threshold when the Word of God is proclaimed and the
heart allows itself to be shaped by transforming grace. "
- Pope Benedict
XVI, "Porta Fidei".
